Self-taught from the age of 9 on a spinet organ, Ray progressed to playing keyboards in his first band at the age of 17 cutting his teeth on Motown, Soul and Stax music.

During this era, Ray played many gigs supporting artists including Curtis Mayfield, Gloria Gaynor, Edwin Starr, David Ruffin, Ben E King and Geno Washington.

Ray moved naturally over to blues and jazz funk in his 20’s and to the present day has played with many different outfits within the UK.

As well as playing in Full House, Ray currently plays across the UK, Europe and beyond with the highly acclaimed and multi award-winning band The Producers with whom he has won the accalade of ‘Best UK Keyboard Player’ (Bronte Blues Club Awards) and voted third best UK Keyboard Player (Blues Matters Magazine Poll).
